I reinstalled windows 10 on my laptop after a *shock* windows 11 install started failing like mad.
It felt fresh and was running brilliantly.
Of course windows update informed me there were critical updates to be made.
I allowed it but specifically unchecked firmware updates as I KNEW the newer BIOS version of the one installed had bricked my laptop twice before. It totally ignored me and any cancel close esc ctrl alt del attempts and then shut down completely.
So completely that the power button no longer turned the machine on at all.
I tried the “secret” key combination + reboot / unplug sequences suggested to me, nothing worked.
So I am now sitting with a completely broken laptop, which was my only means of income.
What recourse do I have?
If this is not the right place, please advise where I can log it instead.
